Edward Crowther is the founder and sole operator of Burban Records. He started his music career back in 2016, which was the year he picked up his first guitar. Taking akin to the likes of bands such as Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver, Slash’s Snakepit, and among other classic rock groups of the past, Edward quickly developed an obsession for all things rock n’ roll. Taking most of his inspiration from Guns N’ Roses and guitar icon Slash, he sat out to create his own band of rock n’ rollers.

In 2017, Edward successfully co-founded and started the hard rock group Burban (the “band”), which is where the name “Burban Records” originates from. Being at times between a 4-to-5 piece rock group, the band reigned as one of the hottest up and coming acts in North Carolina (the “State”) at the time. Edward would lead the band to play various shows across the State headlining venues such as the Pour House, Imurj, Deep South the Bar, Black Flower, and among many others. He would further go on to pioneer most of the band’s work including their debut EP “Shot of Rock”, which was followed by a handful of rock singles that glistened in the 80’s hard rock genre of music. Along the way, Edward mastered a diverse set of niche skills including music production, visual design, marketing, social media construction, event booking, contract and venue negotiation, financial management, and artists development. Ultimately, Burban’s run would come to an end in 2020, primarily driven by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the band’s demise, Edward took a hiatus from the music industry but would return in 2021 to start his own solo career. Shortly thereafter, he would complete his undergrad at Appalachian State University in 2022 with a BSBA degree and a focus in finance and banking. With a passion for creating great original rock n’ roll, Edward now writes and produces all his own original music at Burban Records (a professional space in his uptown apartment). With that said, Edward’s background has given him a deep and accurate understanding of what it truly means to be a musician, whether that be creating just for fun or taking that next big leap of faith and going all in. As a result of keeping his passion alive in the fullest way possible, Edward founded Burban Records in 2023, a space with the mission to help provide up incoming artists of any genre all the tools they’ll need to jump start their music and or career.
